VOIP ATA Guide
VoIP ATA is an acronym for Voice over Internet Protocol analogue telephone adaptor. Therefore, the VoIP ATA guide is slightly more complicated than the other router known as the iiNET Belkin router that comes with the VoIP adapter set up and does not require another VoIP adapter ATA unit. The VoIP ATA connects and works with the router to serve the purpose.

The VoIP ATA guide is not as complex as it might sound. Once you have bought the analogue telephone VoIP adapter locate your current router if it’s not the iiNET Belkin router, and connect the network cable of the supplied blue Ethernet to the green port to the connection router at the back of the ATA unit.

Locate the free Local Area Network (LAN) or any other network port on your router or VoIP adapter and connect the other end of the blue Ethernet cable.

If your current modem or router has only one port, you will have to get another router or modem to be able to make a connection between the VoIP ATA unit and your computer.

It is important to get a modem or router that has a VoIP ATA with multiple ports if you intend to network your internet among several users or several other devices. There are certain routers that come with a VoIP adapter set up and do not need require a VoIP ATA unit. All you may need with VoIP adapter routers is a telephone handset as well as an active VoIP account. iiNet Belkin is one of the best routers that come with a VoIP adapter set up and does not require a VoIP ATA unit. The iiNET Belkin router is highly recommended for new users who are not familiar with a VoIP adapter unit setup.

With a firm click into place, connect your square plugged connector telephone cable into line 1 port of your VoIP ATA with the clip facing down. Have the other end of your telephone cable connected into a cordless base station or your telephone handset. Your VoIP adapter setup is complete once you connect your VoIP ATA unit into the power socket on the wall and switch on.

Its setup is quite easy; all you have to do is insert the setup CD that comes along with your VoIP adapter unit that loads the ATA Discovery tool program automatically. The Internet Protocol (IP) address of your system is located by the Discovery Tool. As soon as this is accomplished, you will get a log in provision on your screen that will lead you to the Setup wizard. Use admin in lower case as your password. Tick VoIP account 1 after clicking on the Setup wizard.

The VoIP account 1 will present you with fields that will require you to enter your VoIP phone number as well as your password. Make sure to avoid spaces between your VoIP phone number and your password. Your username as well as password should not be that of your broadband, as this won’t work. Click register after selecting your state. When properly done, SUCCESS will appear next to the VoIP registration. If this does not happen, try again by clicking on apply changes.
